One Book at a Time

We are Metro Detroit's Book Bank, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting & providing equitable access to books that brighten the lives of youth while enhancing literacy & the love of learning.
Through partnerships facilitating literacy instruction, we distribute thousands of like-new books directly to children and families.

Presbyterian Villages of Michigan

MSB provides books to senior citizens suffering socio-economic hardships that are living in Presbyterian Village subsidized housing.

Ivy Rehab for Kids

MSB gifts books for their pediatric therapy waiting room.

UUAA Prison Book Program

MSB supplies 1000 adult books to the UUAA prison book distribution program quarterly.

Liberia Children’s Community Library Foundation

MSB donated 5950 books to LCCLF to be distributed to community libraries in Liberia!

          Strategic Plan

          Ensuring Effective Communications & Engagement

          Goal #1

          Increase MSB’s visibility and presence in the larger community in order to ensure that we are able to attract more long-term supporters, donors and volunteers.

          Goal #2

          Develop strategic partnerships with key community organizations in order to ensure maximum reach and efficacy.

          Goal #3

          Continue to expand programs and partnerships with schools to ensure that we are reaching our target market.

          Develop and implement communications, marketing and evaluation efforts to expand awareness and track MSB’s community impact.

          Focus fundraising efforts on key constituencies that we believe are likely to support MSB, most notably: educators; arts supporters; foundations active in the areas of education, youth development, etc; and individuals who have connections to the Founder and/or board members.
