Easterseals and their commitment to empowering families for a better future.
“Your life and mine shall be valued not by what we take but by what we give.”- Edgar Allen
When it comes to our company’s mission we are deeply committed to providing children with diverse and engaging books that inspire, educate, and entertain. Making partnering with Easterseals a perfect fit as we share a common goal of making a meaningful impact on the lives of families. The non-profit started in 1919 as the National Society for Crippled Children. Then in 1934, the organization launched its first Easter “seal” stamp to raise funds for the organization. Since then they have been able to help over 1.5 million people of all ages through a multitude of different services to be able to live a better life. Easterseals offers tailored disability and community services that help meet the different and unique needs of families across the nation. By working closely with different local organizations in communities nationwide they can focus on more than one kind of disability or mode of support. They can connect with people of these local communities to provide them with high-quality education, healthcare, and employment services.
Easterseals provides a wide range of essential services that are designed to improve the overall well-being of individuals and their families. This work focuses on helping people feel better emotionally, mentally, physically, and socially. Through their assistance, they can help families make the most of the resources available in their community. Easterseals helps them get access to the support they need without wasting valuable time having to search for different services. They provide the vital link that connects families to community organizations, support groups, healthcare providers, and specialized programs that can address their unique needs.
Through their efforts, they can ensure that individuals and their families can receive the right support, whether it is mental health services, in-home care, transportation, early childhood care, etc. Easterseals is dedicated to encouraging independence and improving quality of life, empowering people of all ages and abilities to thrive. Their commitment to building strong community connections allows for families to feel supported, and confident in their ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life.
Making Spirits Bright and Easterseals, through their Walled Lake location, have been working in conjunction to supply children and families with quality, inclusive, and diverse books. At MSB, we understand reading is not only an entertaining activity but also a crucial means to help foster understanding, empathy, and a love of learning in children. Recognizing the importance of literacy MSB teamed up with Easterseals to guarantee that families in the local community have a chance to get their hands on materials that help promote storytelling and learning from a diverse perspective. With this partnership, we seek to celebrate children of all backgrounds by providing books that help them see themselves, their lives, and their futures reflected in the pages of a book. Easterseals has been involved with helping families of those who have disabilities, thus it was only natural to choose this organization as our partner. We don’t just provide the books we nurture the passion for reading. MSB and Easterseals are making a difference in one book, one family, and one story at a time.
This program has shown us how compassion and support can help those who need it gain the sense of independence they deserve from all the different services offered. However, this program would be unable to reach its goals without the support of others. If you are interested in how you can help make an impact on your community, you can get involved with Easterseals here. There are various ways to donate to the cause including monetary donations, workplace giving, and cryptocurrency. Furthermore, you can engage with Easterseals through their newsletter, or on their socials, on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, and BlueSky. Together, we can uplift communities across the nation, building a future where everyone can have the support and independence they deserve.
